A video about the artist:

Dirk Aleksic was born in 1967 and grew up in Lower Saxony. He stopped studying Japanology at the FU Berlin after discovering the Zen monastery Hosshinji in Japan, where he lived from 1998 to 2007 after some short stays. There he was ordained a Buddhist monk in the tradition of Soto Zen. After his return from Japan, he learned the ceramic craft as an autodidact and has been a professional ceramist with his own workshop in Berlin since 2011.
Today he is the exclusive supplier of many important Berlin scene and star restaurants.
