Exclusively for us, the ceramic studio Manja Götze from Berlin Friedrichshain manufactures this simple and noble pouring jug made of dark clay in pure handwork.

The pouring jug is characterized by its straight and puristic line and yet distinctive appearance. Neither the inside nor the outside is glazed. With its rough feel, it is very pleasant to hold. Since the inside is also not glazed, the whipping of the Matcha succeeds particularly well. Due to the rough surface, a beautiful, fine foam forms easily and quickly when preparing the matcha.

The pouring jug can be used both as a water cooler (yuzamashi) or to prepare a larger amount of matcha for several people.

In addition, this is the ideal preparation bowl to prepare matcha latte: Prepare the matcha in this pouring jug and pour the matcha into the previously foamed milk. This way, the matcha can be perfectly dosed in the matcha latte.

The trained ceramist Manja Goetze does not give any of the production steps out of her hand. She makes and burns all the bowls herself and thus has influence on the finished end product in form and color at all times. As similar as all bowls look, each Chawan is unique, as they often differ from each other in the smallest details. Genuine handcraft.

This pouring jug has a diameter of ca. 9cm and a height of approx 8,5cm.
