Premium Genmai Cha - Dan -
This Genmai Cha is a blend of Kamairi tea and roasted Japanese brown rice. The spicy aroma of roasted brown rice and the scent of Kamairi tea evoke the soothing feeling of a warming fire. Dan is the Japanese word for "warm".Tea leaves:
The tea leaves have a beautiful deep green colour with a slight yellow tinge and an elegant, rounded leaf shape with colour gradient. The contrast with the light brown colour of the brown rice is beautiful. Sweet and savoury aroma of roasted brown rice combines with hints of sweet hay, roasted nuts and cocoa.
Tasting:
Rich aroma characterised by roasted rice. Exudes the sweet scent of roasted nuts and some wood. Dry and refreshing on the palate, with mild astringency and bitterness, slightly sweet umami, rich.
How best to enjoy it:
Genmaicha goes well with Japanese, Chinese, Korean and other Asian dishes served with white rice. In addition to Japanese sweets with red bean paste, it also goes well with chocolate and plump cakes, making it a good choice for teatime with friends or for refreshment during a break at work.

Miyazaki Sabo produces the highest quality organic tea in Japan using traditional production methods.
The Miyazaki Sabo tea garden is located in Gokase, in the centre of the Japanese southern island of Kyushu. The Miyazaki family started growing tea there about 90 years ago and pioneered the conversion to organic cultivation about 40 years ago. Their goal was to produce tea that does no harm to nature, both in cultivation and in consumption.
The current owner Akira Miyazaki received official organic certification from JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standard) for Miyazaki Sabo in 2001. He uses the knowledge he acquired at university to produce a rich, characteristic Kamairi tea of the highest quality from the combination of soil, climate and the use of various excellent Japanese tea varieties, which is characterised by refreshing taste and sweetness.
The success of his efforts is documented by many prestigious awards, such as the Japanese Emperor's Prize, the highest award for Japanese agricultural products, awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and the Great Taste Award Gold Award in England. Its teas were also served at dinner at the G20 Summit in Osaka in 2019. These recognitions show that Miyazaki Sabo is one of the country's leading tea producers.
History:
1930 Start of tea cultivation
1983 Stop of the use of all pesticides and chemical fertilisers
2001 Obtaining organic certification by JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standard)
2007 Renaming of the company to Miyazaki Sabo (Miyazaki Tea House)
