matchashop - The specialist for original japanese Matcha tea and its accessories

Since 2011 matchashop offers you the finest original Japanese Matcha tea, often from certified organic cultivation, together with the matching accessories for the authentic Matcha preparation. We purchase the various Matcha varieties and accessories directly from the producers in Japan and maintain close contacts with the various manufacturers. In this way we can guarantee for the extraordinary quality of the Matcha varieties we offer.

In addition to the online shop, from which we supply the whole of Europe, we also operated Europe's only specialist shop specialising in original Japanese Matcha from 2014 to 2022.

The Team

matchashop was founded in 2011 by Florian Rosch. After a career in IT, the trained businessman operated Europe's first tea lounge, Teelirium, in Frankfurt from 2005 to 2008. At Teelirium, about 100 varieties of loose tea and Matcha were offered at that time. After the closure of the tea lounge, the online shop at www.teelirium.de, which had been in existence since 2004, was continued. Since 2011, www.matchashop.de has been in existence with a focus on original Japanese Matcha and the matching accessories. Today the best organic Matcha is offered under the own brand "Teelirium" in the online shop.

Why you should buy matcha from matchashop

Sadly, there are many imitations and tea powders that are sold under the name ‘matcha.’ This means that not everything sold as matcha really is matcha. Very often, normal green tea ground into a powder is sold on the market as matcha. Because matcha is not a protected name, any ground green tea powder can be labelled as such even if it really has nothing to do with true matcha tea.
