Since 2011, matchashop has been offering you an exclusive selection of over Bei matchashop has been offering you an exclusive selection of over 100 varieties of original Japanese matcha and around 100 varieties of exquisite Japanese green teas, often from certified organic cultivation, since 2011. We also offer the right accessories for authentic matcha preparation. Our direct sources of supply from the producers in Japan and our close relationships with the manufacturers enable us to guarantee the exceptional quality of our products.

Our online store supplies customers throughout Europe and other parts of the world. From 2014 to 2022, we also ran Europe's first specialist store specializing exclusively in original Japanese matcha. This underlines our leading role in the field of exquisite Japanese teas and our deep understanding of quality and tradition.

The Team

Matchashop was founded in 2011 by Florian Rosch. The experienced businessman, who previously pursued a career in IT, ran Europe's first tea lounge, Teelirium, in Frankfurt from 2005 to 2008. During this time, Teelirium offered around 100 varieties of loose tea and matcha. After the tea lounge was closed, Florian Rosch continued the online sales that had existed since 2004 at www.teelirium.de. Since 2011, the online store www.matchashop.de has focused on original Japanese matcha and Japanese green tea as well as the matching accessories. Today, excellent organic matcha and corresponding accessories are offered in the company's own online store under its own brand "Teelirium".

Why you should buy matcha from matchashop

There are numerous imitations and tea powders on the matcha market that are falsely sold as "matcha". Not every product sold as matcha actually meets the quality standards of genuine matcha. You often come across simply ground green tea that is misleadingly labeled as matcha. As 'matcha' is not a protected designation, manufacturers are free to label any ground green tea powder as matcha, even if it has little in common with authentic matcha.
