Further information for resellers:
What exactly is matcha?
Matcha is finely ground green tea from Japan. The leaves are shade-grown before harvest, gently processed and then milled into a vibrant green powder. Learn more at www.matcha.de.
What is a matcha latte?
A matcha latte blends premium matcha with milk or milk alternatives – similar to a latte macchiato, but green. A trending drink that’s both stylish and nourishing.
How long does preparation take?
Similar to a cappuccino. Matcha is whisked with hot water using a bamboo whisk – quick, simple, and visually appealing.
What equipment do I need?
For traditional preparation: a matcha bowl, bamboo whisk and measuring spoon. For foodservice, we also offer efficient tools for high-volume use.
Can my staff learn this easily?
Absolutely. We provide a straightforward guide that explains how to prepare and serve matcha consistently and with ease – ideal for team onboarding.
Who is the target group for matcha?
Health-conscious, flavor-savvy consumers – especially younger generations – love matcha as a vibrant, feel-good alternative to classic coffee drinks.
Is matcha considered an allergen?
No. Matcha is a natural product and not classified as an allergen. There’s no legal obligation to label matcha due to caffeine content (not legal advice).
How else can I use matcha?
Matcha is extremely versatile: use it in cakes, ice cream, smoothies or even savory dishes – to surprise your guests with flavor, color and creativity.
Do you have "ceremonial matcha"?
“Ceremonial Matcha” is purely a marketing label from the West—this category does not exist in Japan. Instead, tea masters select their quality based on clear criteria such as koicha (濃茶) or usucha (薄茶), as well as origin, color, aroma, and traditional stone grinding. It is therefore better to rely on objective characteristics such as bright green color, fresh umami aroma, and transparent origin information rather than vague quality promises on the can. For all the details, please visit: https://matcha.de/ceremonial-matcha/ (German only).
Where can I find more information about matcha?
Please visit our information page www.matcha.de, where you can find everything you need to know about matcha (German only).
