Sencha Takachiho - a touch of myth in your cup

This sencha has more than just excellent taste - it tells a story rooted in the misty hills of southern Japan. More precisely: in Takachiho, the place on Kyushu where, according to legend, the grandson of the gods Ninigi-No-Mikoto once descended to earth. A place that the Japanese regarded as a gateway between the worlds - and which is still seen as a sacred origin to this day.

The Sencha Takachiho comes from this very region - a tea that combines cultural depth with outstanding tea quality. The tea plants thrive on fertile soil under the careful care of traditional tea farmers. What is the result? A harmonious interplay of pleasant sweetness, gentle mildness and a finely balanced umami that is almost reminiscent of Gyokuro. Except that this sencha is lighter - yet surprisingly long-lasting in taste.

The high quality of these leaves can not only be tasted, but also analyzed. The gentle processing ensures a remarkably low bitter content combined with high depth. This is no coincidence, but the result of manual work, regional expertise and a deep understanding of every nuance of the tea plant - from leaf vein to leaf tip.

Recommended preparation

• Tea quantity: 5 g to approx. 450 ml water
• Water temperature: optimum is 70 °C
• Brewing time: 60-90 seconds for the first infusion, from the second 5-10 seconds are sufficient

The first sip surprises with an almost velvety mouthfeel, a delicate green glow in the infusion, with subtle grassy notes and a floral undertone. Perfect for quiet moments at the desk, with a book or as a mindful companion throughout the day. If you like, try several infusions - the Takachiho unfolds in many layers and yet remains clear.
