Gyokuro Karigane - fine stems with great effect
Imagine a tea that not only tastes good, but also teaches you how precisely nature works. Gyokuro Karigane is just such a tea. A by-product? Only on paper. Because what is sorted out as stems in the classic Gyokuro harvest unfolds its very own character here: complex, clear, surprisingly gentle. Ideal for anyone who likes to take a closer look - and taste.
The basis of this exceptional Karigane (茎茶) is formed by the finely chopped leaf veins and stems of the Gyokuro plant - probably the finest shade tea in Japan. These plant parts are regarded as carriers of the volatile aroma components and ensure a balanced interplay of umami, fresh sweetness and a deep green minerality. The infusion has an almost ethereal effect - light but with a lasting presence. Just the right tea for pointed moments when you prefer substance over spectacle
.For connoisseurs who like to get to the bottom of things, this tea offers exciting doors: the Gyokuro flavor - viewed detached from the leaf mass - shows its very own context here. A fascinating object of study for the curious, but also a suitable everyday companion for quiet hours.
