The Asatsuyu variety is regarded by tea connoisseurs as a "natural Gyokuro" - Tennen Gyokuro. And there are reasons for this: Its leaves develop an extraordinary sweetness that is already noticeable at harvest - floral, velvety and elegant. Watanabe Kyû combines these fine aromas with a slightly maritime umami, embedded in a smooth texture that almost melts on the palate. But this tea is much more than just a refined taste. The sensitive Asatsuyu bush variety poses a real challenge in organic tea cultivation.
