Asanagi Sencha Kirishima Miumori (organic) - mild, clear, embracing
When you start to familiarize yourself with Japanese green tea, this Asanagi Sencha from Kirishima is like the first green after a long winter: still, bright and lively. A tea to arrive - in the moment, with yourself, in the quiet expanse of an early June morning in the misty forest of the Miumori Gardens.
Shutaro Hayashi's biodynamically cultivated tea garden is located high above sea level on Kyushu, where humid mists and mineral-rich volcanic soil create a unique microclimate. This is exactly where this special Sencha is created - a harmonious blend of different tea bush varieties from the early summer harvest. The combination gives it a round, smooth taste with a delicate sweetness and an almost floral aroma, which is typical of the Kirishima region.
"Asanagi" means "morning calm on the sea" - and that is exactly what this tea tastes like. Finely balanced, soft in the mouth, with a gentle depth that lingers for a long time. The infusion shimmers light green to golden yellow, its aroma is reminiscent of fresh grass, delicate herbs and a hint of warm fruit.
Good Sencha for beginners - with depth for every day
If you are just starting to explore the world of Japanese teas, you will love this sencha. Its preparation is uncomplicated - no bitter taste, no overpowering umami. Simply a tea that is there when you need it: in the morning to set the mood, at lunchtime as a reset, in the evening to land softly.
