Marimo Sencha (organic) - Gentle depth from the heart of Japan
Are you looking for a tea that breathes tranquillity and shows character at the same time? The Marimo Sencha from the Hayashi family's organic manufactory invites you to experience the green heart of Japan in its purest form. On around eight hectares of land, nestled in the misty microclimate of Mie Prefecture, Iwao Hayashi and his son Kimihiko have been cultivating their tea gardens with dedication - strictly organically since the 1970s.
This region, characterized by humid forests and cool sea breezes, gives Marimo Sencha its delicate lightness. Thanks to the careful selection of shrub varieties - especially the tried-and-tested Yabukita - this chu-mushi Sencha from the late first harvest (mid to late May) develops a balanced aroma profile: mild, soft and without bitterness. Its cup color? An intense, bright green with a delicate cloudiness - a visual promise of quality and mindfulness.
The Marimo Sencha is "half fukamushi" - i.e. steamed a little longer without completely dissolving the delicate structure of the leaves. This method opens the cell walls so that the ingredients are released into the water particularly quickly. The result: a full-bodied infusion after just 60 seconds of steeping, ideal for meditative tea moments or the perfect start to a conscious day.
Tea garden with attitude - the origin counts
Iwao Hayashi is considered one of the pioneers of organic tea cultivation in Japan. His knowledge of natural pest control and soil health is still groundbreaking today. Together with his son, he cultivates the fields by hand - completely without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. The entire farm has also been EU-certified organic since 2010.
This dedication is reflected in every sip: Marimo Sencha combines tradition, down-to-earthness and an awareness of the future. For all those who not only drink green tea, but also want to associate an attitude with their consumption.Recommended preparation- Quantity: 1 teaspoon (approx. 2 g) to 200 ml water
