This bancha comes from the second plucking in spring - a fine gleaning of the first harvest, harvested just a few weeks after the high-quality Miyazaki Tokujou Sencha. The larger, stronger leaves are traditionally folded flat instead of rolled into needles. This ensures a particularly rich leaf and a character that reveals itself again and again between five infusions. Quiet, but haunting.

Immediately after harvesting, the Morimoto family gently withers the leaves under controlled cooling - until the next morning. This allows them to develop their typical aromas: briefly oxidized, expressive, with a hint of depth. The fragrance is reminiscent of the first opening of a herb cupboard after a summer rain. Floral notes and a full-bodied, slightly salty freshness - almost like a Japanese oolong, but completely unfermented. A tea that cannot be pigeonholed - it needs to be experienced.
