Kumamoto Kikuchi Sencha Tea Organic is a purely organically grown tea that grows naturally and is enjoyed by particularly health-conscious people. The tea gardens of Kumamoto Kukichi Sencha Premium are located 300 to 500 meters above sea level in the mountains northeast of Aso Gairinsan, the Aso volcano. The gardens cover an area of 179 hectares - in the midst of untouched nature.

The Kikuchi Valley

The Kikuchi Valley, through which the water of the Kikuchi River flows, is densely covered with deciduous trees and, together with the meandering course of the river and the hilly landscapes, forms a magnificent idyll.

Kumamoto Kukichi Sencha Premium is made with fresh spring water from the "Kikuchi" spring in Kumamoto/Kyushu. That is why the locals call this tea "Kikuchi Suigen" ("Water Spring of Kikuchi") in Japanese.
It is characterized by its sweet, round taste and by its refreshing aroma, of which people in this region are particularly proud. The unique taste is the result of frequent weather and temperature fluctuations and the foggy days typical of this region.

Before infusion:

• Shape of leaves: tapering to the ends, needle-shaped; appear robust, almost steely.
• Color: strong, dark green
• Scent: mild forest scent, one thinks to perceive a hint of Japanese ink ink

After infusion:

• Color: light green color called "rice seedling green" by the Japanese
• Aroma: sweetish, mild fragrance
• Taste: distinct umami note; leaves a lovely sweet finish
