Bio Morimoto Matcha Gyokujou - 20 g tin
Are you looking for a high-quality drinking-grade matcha that combines depth, character and balance? Then you will love the organic Morimoto Matcha Gyokujou. This particularly fine matcha comes from the experienced hands of the Morimoto family - a pioneering couple in organic tea cultivation in Japan. For over 40 years, they have been cultivating their fields with dedication and knowledge in Miyazaki Prefecture on Kyushu, where fertile soils and mild sea air create an ideal terroir.
The Morimotos only use the fine shrub variety Oku Midori for the Gyokujou. Only the most tender leaves are harvested by hand, gently shaded (kabuse) and ground into a velvety powder. Shading for two to three weeks enhances the fine umami and brings out a harmonious sweetness - a profound, classic Japanese taste, perfect for quiet moments of indulgence or your daily mindfulness practice.
Compared to Morimoto Premium Matcha Minami Sayaka, the Gyokujou is fuller-bodied and has more flavor reverberation - ideal if you crave a more intense, rounded experience.
- Taste: Harmonious, full-bodied, with a delicate sweetness and subtle umami
- Strain variety: 100% Oku Midori
- Harvesting & processing: Hand-picked, shaded, traditionally ground
- Consistency: extremely fine, dissolves excellently

Why this matcha is special
The Morimoto family stands for sustainable agriculture with a sense of diversity - seven different shrub varieties grow in their natural fields. This diversity naturally protects the plants from pests and ensures a variety of flavors. The Morimotos are also technologically up to date: they run their own production hall and mainly work in pairs - with real dedication that you can taste in every sip.
The Gyokujou is not a show matcha - but one for connoisseurs and connoisseurs who are looking for depth instead of show effects. Perfect for your personal tea routine, for quiet meditation or as a high-quality companion in plant-based cuisine.
