Bio Matcha Silk Basic - your introduction to the world of Japanese matcha
Would you like to try matcha for yourself - for cooking, baking or as a bright green energy boost in between meals? Then our Bio Matcha Silk Basic is the perfect match for you. This versatile drinking-grade matcha comes from the southern prefecture of Kagoshima and has everything you need for your everyday life: Taste, nutrients and inspiration - with amazing value for money.
Its character: fresh, slightly tart, pleasantly herbal with subtle umami. Perfect as a matcha latte or infused on its own - but also a real insider tip as an ingredient for creative smoothies, bowl toppings or in sweet and savory dishes.
Different to typical cooking matcha, Matcha Silk Basic has a significantly higher taste and color quality, which makes it the ideal hybrid: suitable for everyday use, yet pure and carefully produced.
From the high altitudes of Kagoshima - natural power from good soil
In the mineral-rich soil of volcanic origin, at an altitude of around 500 meters in the Kirishima Mountains, the tea bushes of our matcha grow under dense, natural fog. This acts as a natural shade provider and promotes the formation of valuable ingredients such as L-theanine, amino acids and polyphenols.
What makes our matcha special is not just its origin, but the care with which it is produced: From the selection of old, deep-rooted plants to the avoidance of any form of pesticide or herbicide. It is fertilized exclusively with four years of fermented, home-made organic compost. The result: a natural raw material with tangible quality - sustainable and harmless to health.
Versatile in the kitchen - and high in nutritional valueMatcha Silk Basic not only scores points in terms of taste, but also functionally: its high ORAC value (a measure of antioxidant capacity) and broad spectrum of micronutrients make it a valuable part of your daily diet. Whether you use it for your green morning latte or to enhance desserts such as matcha cookies, tiramisu or ice cream - this powder adds color, taste and vitamins to your plate.
And don't worry if you're just starting out: thanks to its versatility, this matcha is ideal for your first taste experiments - without any regrets. The unmistakable color, the finely ground powder from the granite stone mill and its drinking quality make it an invitation to discover matcha in a new way.
Recommended preparation
- Place 1-2 lightly heaped bamboo spoons (approx. 1-2 g) of matcha in a tea bowl
- Stir with a small sip of 65-70 °C warm water - first to a smooth paste
- Then add approx. 80 ml of water (max. 80 °C, preferably less)
- Whisk with a bamboo whisk in a zig-zag motion until frothy
Our tip: For creamy mixed drinks or savory dishes, you can use a little more matcha. If you get creative, you will be rewarded.

It also has a bitterness of fresh herbs.
It doesn't have any smell nor taste of grass or umami at all. thing I taste in this are mixed herbs, parsley for example.
