This fine first harvest kabusecha comes from the picturesque island of Yakushima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with lush vegetation and original tea gardens. The Watanabe family has been cultivating their tea there for generations - organically, with dedication and in harmony with nature.

Kabusecha means: shaded before the harvest. This traditional method creates a perceptibly soft, deep taste with lasting umami. When infused, the shimadori exudes subtle notes of green fruit, wet wood and fresh leaves - a fragrance that evokes memories of forest baths and rainy evening walks.

Recommended preparation

• Quantity: 1-2 teaspoons per 200 ml of water
• Water temperature: 65-70 °C
• Brewing time: 50 seconds for the first infusion, 10 seconds for each of the next two
