This sencha from the Hayashi tea family takes you to the hilly forests of Kirishima in southern Japan. This is where Shutaro and Kenji Hayashi cultivate their certified organic tea bushes with great dedication - some of which date back to seeds that found their way from Shizuoka to Kyūshū over 100 years ago. They belong to a rare lineage, carefully preserved for generations.

Unlike many classic senchas, the Miumori thrives on tension: Different degrees of steaming - from light (asa-mushi) to deep (fuka-mushi) - ensure a multi-faceted interplay of floral, umami-accented and nutty notes. At the same time, this tea combines leaves from both shaded (kabusecha) and unshaded (roji saibai) cultivation methods. The result? A sensual depth that lingers on the tongue for a long time, accompanied by a delicate fragrance that is almost meditative.

The name "Miumori" means "wooded depth". And that is exactly how this tea tastes - like morning mist slowly clearing over ancient treetops.
