Family Hayashi (Kirishima)

Shutaro Hayashi's Kirishima organic tea garden is located at the foot of the Kirishima Mountains and combines more than five generations of tea tradition and knowledge. Since the early 1990s, the tea garden has been run completely organically. Shutaro and his brother Kenji continue the work of their father Osamu, with innovative cultivation methods that focus on natural pest control and environmental sustainability. Careful steaming and varieties such as Asatsuyu and Yabukita produce exquisite teas with complex aromas that combine depth, freshness and a special sweetness.
