Organic Kirishima Matcha Nomikoto - 20g in a fine jewelry box
Are you looking for a matcha that is more than just a moment of pleasure - a tea with history, character and depth? Then the Bio Kirishima Matcha Nomikoto is exactly your green tea. This subtle drinking-grade matcha comes from the Hayashi family's renowned tea garden, nestled in the tranquil mountain ranges of the Kirishima Mountains in southern Japan. There it matures on nutrient-rich volcanic soil, surrounded by pristine forests - far away from mass production and noise.
Only the leaves from the first spring harvest are used for this matcha. The focus is on the particularly rare shrub variety Asatsuyu, which is considered almost a treasure in organic cultivation. It gives the tea an intense cup colour - almost emerald green - and an unmistakable interplay of flavours between sweet fruitiness and soft umami, underpinned by a sweet, almost creamy depth. Only leaves that have been traditionally shaded before harvesting are used here - this increases the concentration of amino acids and ensures the gentle, harmonious note in the cup.
The matcha is freshly ground in a small family-run factory - with ultra-short routes directly from the field to processing. This prevents oxidation, preserves the vital substances and allows the vibrant freshness of the tea to be felt with every serving.
Enjoy it classically whipped with the chasen (matcha whisk) - pure, meditative, with a sip of time. In keeping with the spirit of the fifth-generation family business, which has been working organically since the 1990s. This was made possible by father Osamu Hayashi and now Shutaro, who has created one of Japan's most fascinating organic teas with scientific expertise and family dedication.

- Bram v., 01/01/2020It tastes and smells like fermented grass.
It's not bad but the taste and smell is quite heavy and not fresh.
It definitely gives an immediate energy boost and the aftertaste is only slightly bitter.
Drinkable, but I miss the fresh grass smell here. immediate energy boost and the aftertaste is only slightly bitter.
